it was rainning hard when we left the restaurant. dinner was ok, but i had to go to a birthday party. it was dark and i got lost. i followed a bad sign that led me to an old dir-road, near the edge of a cliff. at the end of the road there was a big lot with grass and weed and small ponds of rain water. a dead-end. there was a small door at the corner of the lot, a very old door. it looked like it was leading to an underground house and reminded me a lot of a brothel. i turned the car around in order to head back. driving on the small dirt road i saw a couple of thin, blonde girls walking towards the old door. they wore bright red lipstick and a lot of sparkling blue eye-shadow. i drove right next to one of them. i noticed her extremely high heels and the tight, short bright leather skirt. she looked at me for a second through the car window and laughed ironically.
i somehow found my way to the party. the birthday boy was someone from my university years. i hadn’t seen most of these people in ages. went in. they were all sitting in two oposite lines. funny. i walked up to the guy, shook his hand, said “happy birthday”. he wispered “it’s not my birthday. i’m not him”. i felt embrarassed. i looked around and sat on the floor at the end of the line. two girls i didn’t know where sitting next to me. we started. chatting. they were both recently admitted to the university. same schoool i went to. they were funny and full of life. laughing all the time. the three of us moved to the corner of the room, a few meters away from the others. we sat next to a window, smoked and laughed. at least, they were laughing. i was being busy saying smart things to make them laugh, while overcoming the embarassment of not recognizing the birthday boy. plus i was still wet. a few moments later another girl joined us. she was a friend of theirs. small, pale skin, brown eyes and hair, black small dress. she sat right next to me, really close, shoulders touching. she started laughing a the jokes we made. and when i made an inapropriate joke she laughed and i said she’s too young to know. “oh yeah? how old do you think i am?”. “18, for sure”.”i’ll be 19 in a little while”. i couldn’t resist grabbing her. she didn’t hesitate returning the favor. the others left. we stayed.
i woke up to the door bell. the ups guy is here.
i guess i’m becoming one of those creepy old men.
[edit: it took a while, but think i have recognized her. scary]
